PT REA KALTIM PLANTATIONS (REA) is a leading sustainable palm oil producer in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Established in 1995, we are committed to sustainability, traceability, and inclusive palm oil production.
Guided by our vision to lead in sustainable palm oil production and our mission to drive sustainable growth through collaborative excellence, we uphold the highest standards of integrity across our operations to deliver high-quality crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO).
Since joining RSPO in 2007, we have consistently advanced our sustainability efforts. In 2023, we proudly achieved RSPO certification for all our palm oil mills, reinforcing our commitment to collaborative and sustainable good agricultural practices.
As a subsidiary of R.E.A. Holdings PLC (“REA Group”), listed on the London Stock Exchange, REA operates primarily in East Kalimantan. We combine global standards with regional expertise to ensure efficient and sustainable operations to continuously drive sustainable good agricultural practices and innovation across our supply chain.
We manage palm oil mills, kernel crushing plants, and oil palm plantations, while conserving up to 18,000 hectares of forests and protected areas, ensuring a seamless balance between production and preservation. With 100% traceability to plantations and compliance with evolving regulations like the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), we remain committed to transparency and responsibility.
We drive sustainable growth through four strategic pillars: Sustainable Development, Climate Action, Forest Preservation, and Empowering Livelihoods. These pillars embody our holistic approach to balancing innovation, compliance, environmental protection, and community well-being. By focusing on these priorities, we align our operations with global sustainability standards, protect ecosystems, reduce emissions, and promote inclusive growth.
Through collaborative partnerships and community-focused initiatives, we actively support smallholders, protect biodiversity, conserve forests and reduce emissions. Our two methane capture facilities generates 99.6% of the electricity required for most of our operations and employee housing while also supplying power to nearby villages.
By fostering inclusivity and promoting shared responsibility, we create lasting value for our stakeholders, the environment, society, and the economy, ultimately benefiting both our company and the communities we serve.

Our operations are centered on the cultivation of approximately 36,000 hectares of oil palm trees across around 69,000 hectares of agricultural land in Belayan Ulu. This area spans both banks of the Belayan River, which is a tributary of the Mahakam River, located in the Kembang Janggut and Tabang Districts. Our strategic location enables us to cultivate oil palms and produce high-quality CPO and CPKO for global markets.
We strive to continuously improve the way we operate. As part of this, we have achieved Green PROPER Certification for all three of our mills, maintained RSPO membership since 2007, achieved RSPO certification for 100% of our palm oil mills in 2023 and over 80% of our oil palm plantation with HGU has been RSPO certified. By combining sustainable agricultural practices with environmental stewardship, we enhance productivity while safeguarding natural resources and supporting the communities around us, working towards creating a sustainable future for all stakeholders in our supply chain through strategic partnerships and landscape initiatives.
We cultivate approximately 35,873 hectares of oil palm plantations, which produce Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) that are processed into CPO and CPKO. For more information, read here.
