Compliance with International & National Standards

We adhere to ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and SMK3 (Indonesian Health & Safety Standard).

Risk Prevention & Employee Safety Training

Risk Prevention & Employee Safety Training To embed a culture of safety, REA implements comprehensive training programmes to ensure employees can perform tasks safely and efficiently.

  1. Enhanced Safety Induction
New employees and contractors undergo detailed safety inductions, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate workplace risks and necessary personal protective equipment and related.
  2. High-Risk Task Training
Employees working at heights, confined spaces, and hazardous environments receive mandatory safety training and SOP-based hazard control measures.
  3. Motorcycle & Vehicle Safety
Given the hazardous conditions of estate roads, all vehicle drivers must pass a competency test, while motorcycle safety training is provided to employees and their families.
  4. Health Monitoring Programs
Annual medical check-ups and disease prevention training are conducted to safeguard employee well-being.
  5. OHS Training & Regulatory Compliance
Throughout 2024, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) training was conducted across all REA operations to increase employee awareness and understanding of safe work practices. This included government-mandated regulatory safety training for certified safety managers, vehicle and heavy equipment operators, pesticide handlers, and first aid and fire prevention officers.
Incident Reporting & Continuous Improvement

REA has a structured accident reporting and investigation system to identify the root causes of incidents and prevent recurrence.

Rigorous Incident Investigation
Infrastructure Enhancements
Road & Transportation Safety
Increased Safety Inspections

Rigorous Incident Investigation

A more inclusive and structured process ensures that all workplace accidents are analysed and necessary corrective actions are implemented.

In 2024, the group recorded 955 work incident cases (2023: 1,367) and 651 working days lost (2023: 1,256), as the LTIFR in 2024 was 11.84 compared with 17.9 in 2023. The decrease in incidents and working days lost are can be attributed to continuous safety training, stricter enforcement of safety protocols, and increased supervision, particularly in high-risk areas such as tall palm harvesting. Additionally, the successful implementation of SMK3, including rigorous safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions, has played a crucial role in identifying and mitigating potential hazards before incidents occur.
